empty boxes

Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants and the day when they received a ‘Christmas Box’ from the master. The servants would also go home on Boxing Day to give ‘Christmas Boxes’ to their families. (a google search definition)

I don’t really know what this Dec 26th day is but to me it is to burn and let go of or release.

I have licorice, chocolate, peanuts and pie dwindling down into my tummy

I cannot lie

Seeing the family, relatives, nieces and nephews grow

and I am not sure they know I recognize who they used to be

as just like new blades of grass

for Christmas makes the eyes a bit lighter and brighter

and for some awareness of things from the past

if Christmas means anything

and hassel and emotions it presents

only will last

until the final essence

in cleaning up the messes and eating baked goods

paper decorations

empty boxes

torn gift bags

it is a wonder to gather around a fire

and throw in the things that must be burned and

discarded

I just feel a release when the Christmas pressure cooker

is turned off

the memories of the day before

in my mind

The hope that for all mankind

the conflicts of the past

renewed in a different view

maybe we understand

what could of been better

what could not have been more perfect

the lights on my tree are still on and the

effect is of a softer peaceful glow

I see the bonfire outside burning high as the emptiness

of the boxes fills with the fire

My heart will burn brighter now

And I will allow

The new perspective

of

my Joy Star spirit!
